Awarded a medal for the cause of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs to Mr. John Hendra (05-09-2011)

In the afternoon, May 4, 2011, the medal award ceremony for Mr. John Hendra – Resident Coordinator of the United Nations (UN) in Vietnam took place at the office of the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA). Attending the ceremony were the Minister of MOLISA Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, leaders of some units of the Ministry and representatives of UN organizations.

On April 19, 2011, the Asia- Europe Meeting (ASEM) on “ Social safety network: Improving cooperation to cope with challenges of post crisis ” closed under the chairmanship of Finland’s Secretary of State for Social Affairs and Health Eeva Kuuskoki; the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) Nguyen Trong Dam; the Deputy Minister of Lao’s Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare Phongsaysack Inthalath; Hungary’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam.

ASEM Forum on Social Safety Nets: “Strengthening cooperation to address post crisis challenges”(04-26-2011)

During the 18th and 19th of April, in Hanoi, Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs in cooperation with the Finnish Embassy in Vietnam organized ASEM Forum on Social Safety Nets: “Strengthening cooperation to address post crisis challenges” with the participation of 150 delegates from Asian and European countries. Madam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan – Secretary of the central Committee of the Party, Minister of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs – attended and delivered an opening speech.

In the afternoon of April 18, 2011,at the head office of the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan had an intimate meeting with Sir Hamad Saleh Al-Jutaily, the Ambassador of Kuwait to Vietnam. Attending the meeting were Ms. Cao Thanh Thuy, Vice Director of the International Cooperation Department and other officials and staff of the Ministry.

Thakral Singapore Group’s CEO awarded friendship medal by Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan(04-13-2011)

In the afternoon of 4 April 2011, at the head office of Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs, on behalf of the President of Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan honorably awarded the Medal of Friendship to Mr. Rikhi Thakral – Chief Executive Officer of Thakral Singapore Group for his various contributions to social welfare and charity activities in Vietnam, partly strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and Singapore.

Germany continues to support bomb and mine clearance activities in the Central area of Vietnam(04-07-2011)

According to the information of the German Embassy in Vietnam, in 2011, the Government of this country will continue to support about 800,000 Euros (approximately 1.12 million USD) for bomb and mine, unexploded ordnance clearance activities in the Central area of Vietnam. Thus, in the 13 consecutive years, the German Government has helped Vietnam’s Government conduct activities to overcome the heavy consequences of war and improve living conditions in the Central area.

On the morning of March 29, the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) had a working session with the Norwegian Parliament’s Standing Committee on Family and Cultural Affairs. Attending the working session were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hoa, Standing Deputy Minister of MOLISA; Mr. Pham Ngoc Tien, Director of the Gender Equality Department, Mr. Dang Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Child Care and Protection, Mr. Tran Huu Trung, Director of the Social Protection Department and representatives of the International Cooperation Department and several officials of Norwegian Embassy in Vietnam.

A Seminar on promotion of vocational training in Vietnam through public-private relationship(04-04-2011)

The seminar was jointly held by Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) – Hochiminh branch and Norwegian International Organization of Employers (NHO) in the morning of March 25, 2011 in Hochiminh city. Attending the seminar were representatives of the General Department of Vocational Training, VCCI, vocational training associations, vocational secondary schools, colleges and centers of the city and provinces as Dong Nai, Binh Duong….and many domestic and foreign enterprises.
