Empowering girls to learn, lead, decide and thrive tomorrow(10-09-2018)

To celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child, on October 7th, 2018, in Hanoi, National Assembly's Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescent and Children in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs and the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union together with Plan International Vietnam held the Girls’ Forum 2018 at the National Assembly Office with the participation of nearly 100 girls representing 13 million girls across Vietnam. The event this year has the theme "Empower girls to learn, lead, decide and thrive".

Forum on "Sexual violence against women and girls: the gap of legislation and support services"(09-25-2018)

On September 24th, 2018, in Hochiminh City, Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs in cooperation with United National Population Fund (UNFPA) held the forum on "Sexual violence against women and girl: the gap of legislation and support service". This event is one of the activities towards Action month on gender equality and gender violence prevention and combat in 2018. Attending the forum were Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha, Mrs. Astrid Bant, Head representative of UNFPA in Vietnam and nearly 70 representatives from the relevant agencies in Hochiminh City and the Southern Provinces, organization and press agencies in Hochiminh City.

Writing contest on gender equality launched(09-12-2018)

The Ministry of Labour - Invalids, and Social Affairs (MOLISA) launched a writing contest on gender equality at a ceremony in Hanoi on September 11. Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha highlighted progress recorded in the work for gender equality in Vietnam, particularly communications activities, which has helped change the perception of stereotypes, prevent domestic violence, empower women, and reduce gender imbalance.

Seminar seeks to reduce child labour(09-04-2018)

A seminar discussing solutions to preventing and reducing child labour was taken place in Ho Chi Minh City on August 31. Co-hosted by the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and the International Labour Organisation, the event was part of a project on providing technical support for enhancing the national capacity to prevent and reduce child labour in Vietnam.

Workshop discusses shock-responsive social protection in Vietnam(08-28-2018)

On August 27, in Hanoi, Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) held a consultation workshop to look into risk-informed and shock-responsive social protection in Vietnam. A study on risk-informed and shock-responsive social protection in Vietnam has been conducted under the management of the International Labour Organisation (ILO). It was run under a project chaired by the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and implemented in four Southeast Asian countries, namely the Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam.
