Outstanding individual for works in the protection of children’s rights honoured(11-19-2018)

A meeting was held in Hanoi on November 17 to honour outstanding individuals and organisations for their work in the protection of children’s rights. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam attended the ceremony and awarded certificates of merit to two outstanding individuals in the protection of children's rights, namely Mrs. Tran Thi Thanh Thanh, former Chairwoman of the Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children's Rights (VAPCR), and Mrs. Le Thi Thu, Vice Chairwoman of the VAPCR, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs.

Launching the Action Month for gender equality and gender-based violence prevention 2018(11-16-2018)

On November 14th, 2018, at Can Tho City, Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs in collaboration with the People's Committee of Can Tho City held the Launching Ceremony on Action Month for gender equality and gender – based violence prevention 2018 with the theme "Active prevention of violence and abuse against women and children". Attending the ceremony were Mrs.Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs; Mr. Pham Van Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the City's Party Committee - Chairman of the People's Council of Can Tho City; Mr. Truong Quang Hoai Nam - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City; Mr. Le Bach Duong - Assistant Head Representative of the United Nations Population Fund in Vietnam together with leaders from Ministries, Departments for the Advancement of Women, Central and Local Authorities, and international partners. More than 800 students, students and locals.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved a national project designed to give children with disabilities better access to community-based protection, care and education services from 2018 – 2025. The project strives to have all children with disabilities gain access to community-based protection, care and education services by 2025 which enable them to better integrate into society and exercise their rights.
