Promoting and protecting ASEAN women, children’s rights(08-13-2018)

On August 10th, 2018, in Ho Chi Minh City, a consultation seminar to launch activities of the ASEAN Commission on Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC) was took place. Co-hosted by the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and the Vietnam Association for Protection of Children’s Rights in the city, the event aimed to introduce relevant activities held in Vietnam and discuss joint work to protect women and children’s rights in the near future.

National conference seeks ways to protect children from violence, abuse(08-08-2018)

On August 6th, 2018, in Hanoi, National Committee for Children held the National online conference on protecting children. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired a national online conference on the protection of children against violence, abuse and risks to their health and life. Attending the event were Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam – Chairman of the Committee, the Minister Dao Ngoc Dung – Vice Chairman of the Committee, and representatives from the relevant agencies. The conference, connected with 675 districts and communes across the nation, drew about 18,000 delegates.

New approaching methods needed in prevention violence against children(07-26-2018)

On July 25th, 2018, the Minister of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs had a cordial meeting and working session with Mr. Youssouf Abdel – Jelil, Head Representative of UNICEF Vietnam. the two sides focused on sharing, discussing the experience of UNICEF in order to suggest to Vietnam improving the effects in the work of prevention violence against children.

On July, 18th, 2018, in Hanoi, Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs held the multi-stake holder forum “Promoting gender equality in the digital age and integration”. Microsoft helps Vietnam protect children in cyberspace(07-12-2018)

The cooperation deal on child protection in cyberspace was signed in Hanoi on July 12 by Microsoft Vietnam, the Department of Child Affairs under the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs, and the National Fund for Vietnamese Children.

Regulation revisions needed to promote child labour eradication(06-27-2018)

On June 25th, in Hanoi, MOLISA in the cooperation with ILO Vietnam held the Forum with the theme of “Generation Safe & Healthy”. Attending the event were Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha, Mr. Chang Hee Lee – Director of ILO Vietnam; Mr. Michael Greenfield - representative from U.S. Embassy to Vietnam; Mr. Dang Hoa Nam – Director General of the Department of Child Affairs; the representatives from the NA’s agencies, ministries, sectors and localities.

The Prime Minister urges strengthened efforts to address consequences of floods in northern localities(06-26-2018)

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has issued a telegraph urging the relevant ministries, sectors and localities in the northern region to focus on search and rescue work, as well as strengthening their efforts to overcome the consequences caused by flooding in the area in recent days.

Protecting young generations against drug threats(06-18-2018)

On June 16th, 2018, in Hanoi, a meeting in response to the action month for drug control and prevention 2018 took place and gathered a large number of students. Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam attended and had a speech at the event. The meeting saw the attendance of Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha, representatives from the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the Vietnam National Committee for Prevention and Control of AIDS, Drugs and Prostitution, and leaders of relevant ministries and more than 400 students.
