On July 10th, 2019, in Hanoi, Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) announced the Newsletter updating Vietnamese Labour Market Volume NO 21 (Quarter 1/ 2019). Attending the ceremony were Deputy Minister Doan Mau Diep; Director of the Institution of Labour Science and Social Affairs Dao Quang Vinh; representatives from the relating Ministry, sectors; organizations, researching units, universities and media agencies.

Vietnam, Japan's agreement on employing specific skilled workers(07-02-2019)

On July 01st, Vietnam’s Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) Dao Ngoc Dung and Japan’s Minister of Justice hand over a memorandum of cooperation (MOC) on sending specific skilled workers of Vietnam to work in Japan. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe attended the signing ceremony of the MOC, inked by representatives of the MOLISA and the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and the National Police Agency of Japan.

Completing negotiations of the Agreement on attracting and recruiting Vietnamese labour to work in the territory of the Russian Federation(06-28-2019)

From June 20 to 25, 2019, the second round of negotiations of the Agreement between the Government of Vietnam and the Government of the Russian Federation took place in Moscow, focusing on organizing and attracting Vietnamese employees worked under the labour contract on the Russian Federation territory. The Vietnam delegation was led by Mr. Doan Mau Diep, Deputy Minister of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs. The Russian delegation was led by Mr. Mikhail Kirsanov, Director of the Employment Department (Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation).

Promoting the labour cooperation between Vietnam and United Arab Emirates (UAE)(06-19-2019)

On the sideline of the 108th International Labour Conference held in Geneva (Switzerland), on June 17th, 2019, Minister of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung and Mr. Nasser Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Ministry of Human Resource of United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed the MOU between Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam and Ministry of Human Resource of UAE in the field of domestic workers.

Vietnam ratifies ILO fundamental convention on collective bargaining(06-18-2019)

On 14 June, all of the 452 National Assembly deputies present at the session voted yes to the Government’ dossier for ratification of ILO Convention 98 on the Right to Organise and Collective Bargaining.Convention 98 is one of the eight ILO core conventions under the ILO's 1998 Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, which covers: freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining; the elimination of all forms of forced or compulsory labour; the effective abolition of child labour; and the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation. All ILO member states should respect and apply the principles under the 1998 Declaration.

National Assembly deputies give opinions on revised Labour Code(06-13-2019)

The revised Labour Code will be the focus during the sitting of lawmakers on June 12 in the ongoing 7th session of the 14th National Assembly.

From June 06th, 2019, Czech Republic officially resume work visa for Vietnamese citizens and Czech Republic’s Embassy in Hanoi directively receives the first 200 application profiles of Vietnamese citizens who will go to work in Czech Republic from August, 2019.

National Assembly: Time to approve Vietnam’s accession to ILO’s Convention 98(06-08-2019)

Most opinions at the debate at the National Assembly on June 7 morning supported Vietnam’s joining Convention 98 of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) on the application of principles of the right to organise and bargain collectively. Many deputies said participating in the convention is in line with the Party and State’s policies on international integration in the fields of labour and social affairs, and demonstrates the country’s resolve and efforts to realise labour-related commitments under the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) as well as obligations as a member state of the ILO.
