Upskilling needed in international integration context(11-27-2018)

"Labour market policies and upskilling becoming more important than ever when Vietnam steps into the new era of inclusive international integration…" the message sent in the Conference "on Labour market policy and upskilling needs in international integration context" held by Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs, Federal Ministry on Economy of Switzerland and International Labour Organization (ILO) on November 26th, in Hanoi.

Conference on reviewing the progress of collective bargaining deals (11-22-2018)

On November 21, 2018, in Ho Chi Minh City, Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) held the conference reviewing the progress of collective bargaining deals. At the Conference, Mr. Le Xuan Thanh, Deputy Director General of the Department of industrial relations and wage emphasized that collective bargaining agreements are a legal basis and important tool that help ease arising conflicts between employers and employees as well as protect the legitimate rights and interests of labourers. Negotiating and signing collective bargaining agreements in enterprises are urgent to maintain “harmonious and stable” labour relations.

Conference on "Labour Commitment in the New generation Free Trade Agreements"(11-20-2018)

On November 19th, 2018, in Hanoi, Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) in cooperation with ILO Vietnam held the Conference on "Labour Commitment in the New generation Free Trade Agreement". CPTPP expected to help Vietnam modernise labour laws(11-15-2018)

In addition to trade and investment opportunities, the participation in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) will offer Vietnam a chance to modernise its labour laws and industrial relations system, thus creating sustainable jobs and bringing practical benefits to workers. Vietnam officially became a member of the CPTPP after the 14th National Assembly passed a resolution on November 12, approving the deal and related documents with 96.7% of votes.

Signing Ceremony of Project "Promoting the development of new industrial relationship framework in respect of the ILO's Declaration on the fundamental principles and rights at work"(11-12-2018)

On November 9th, 2018, in Hanoi, Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) in cooperation with the relevant units held the launching ceremony of Project "Promoting the development of new industrial relationship framework in respect of the ILO's Declaration on the fundamental principles and rights at work". Attending the ceremony were Deputy Minister of MOLISA Doan Mau Diep; Mr. Chang-Hee Lee, National Director of ILO Vietnam; leadership representatives from Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry; related ministries, sectors and international organizations.

In the framework of the official visit to Denmark and participation of the Summit "Partnering for Green Growth and the global goals 2030" (P4G) at Copenhagen, Denmark, on October 20th , 2018, the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his Danish counterpart Lars Løkke Rasmussen witnessed the signing ceremony of Letter of Intent on vocational education cooperation between Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs (represented by Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh, Director General of the Directorate of Vocational Education) and Danish Ministry of Education (represented by Mr. Rasmus Vanggard Knudsen, Director of the Department of international cooperation).

The signing ceremony on technical cooperation in the field of Occupational Safety and health(10-05-2018)

On October 4th, 2018, the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and the Korea Agency for Occupational Safety and Health (KOSHA) held the signing ceremony of the Technical Cooperation Agreement 2018 - 2021. Attending the ceremony were Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung, Mr. Lee Chul Woo - Vice Chairman of KOSHA, Mr. Ha Tat Thang , Head of Department of Work Safety (MOLISA) and leaders of some relevant units.

In eight months of 2018: Vietnam sends 86,000 workers abroad(10-02-2018)

Vietnam has sent more than 86,000 workers to work abroad in the first eight months in 2018, accounting for 78% of target of the year, according to the Ministry of Labour- Invalids and Social Affairs. In August alone, the number of guest workers amounted to 13,100 people, most of whom went to Japan (6,880 people), Taiwan (5,130 people), and the Republic of Korea (540 people). The ministry expects to send about 110,000 Vietnamese labourers to work overseas in 2018.
