Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha receives Vice Head Representative of UNICEF in Vietnam

On June 11th, 2018, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha had the cordial meeting with Mrs. Lesley Miller, Vice Head Representative of UNICEF in Vietnam. Attending the meeting were Leadership representatives from the Department of International Cooperation, Department Child Affairs, Department Planning and Finance and other relevant units.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha welcomed Mrs. Lesley Miller and her colleagues to visit and work at the Ministry. She highly appreciated the good cooperation between MOLISA and UNICEF in the work of child protection and care as well as many cooperation programs between the two agencies for the past time.

Sharing with the Deputy Minister, Mrs. Lesley Miller expressed the appreciation for the warm welcome. She said: recently, there has been much important cooperation between MOLISA and UNICEF with specific contents such as: child protection, social support for children, and prevention of child injuries… At the same time, relating to the next work is the establishment of the project management board of project "promote and protect the rights of children in Vietnam" sponsored by UNICEF, Mrs. Lesley Miller hoped that the two sides will take the initiative in ensuring that the establishment of the project management board and completion of the cooperation documents with UNICEF and other conditions.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha said that " about the establishment of the Project Management Board" Promoting and Protecting the children’s Rights in Viet Nam" sponsored by UNICEF, the Ministry's leaders assigned the Department of Child Affairs to consult and submit to the Ministerial leaders to issue the official letters to the concerned ministries and sectors  in order to inform about the plans, funding and project implementation mechanism, including the urgent activities which need to be carried out urgently.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Ha wished to receive more attention, cooperation and support from UNICEF to the Project Management Board when it is established, such as training on resources, techniques, communication and training financial support, project advocacy, programs to accelerate the Project and related work to promote the cooperation of Vietnamese agencies and UNICEF.
