Minister Dao Ngoc Dung receives Director of ILO Office in Vietnam

On May 23th, 2018, at the Ministry Office, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung had a meeting and working session with Mr. Chang Hee Lee, Director of ILO in Vietnam. Attending the meeting were Leadership representatives of the Department of International Cooperation, Department of Social Insurance, Department of Legal Affairs and the Department of Labour relationship and Wage.

At the meeting, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung highly appreciated the relationship as well as the effective cooperation activities between ILO and MOLISA in the field of labour, employment recently, especially in the building 02 Schemes of Salary reform and social insurance reform.

Sharing with Mr. Chang Hee Lee, the Minister said that the 02 important Schemes attracted much attention of all society in general and the labourers in particular. The Minister also informed about the dialogue of the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc with thousands workers in the industrial zones in Red river Delta area on the issues interested by the labourer such as the salary, labour condition, social insurance…

At the meeting, the two sides discussed on the issues: the next step preparation after the 7th meeting of the 12th Party Central Committee in order to deploy 2 Schemes on Salary reform and social insurance reform; building the action program of the Government; amend and supplement the Labour Code; the route of ratifying the Convention No 87, No 98, No 105 of ILO…

The Minister said that it should be identified urgently the detailed action plan, collected the opinion of the Ministries, sectors, and localities… in order to submit to the Prime Minister. He said that the communication which create the agreement in people should be concerned, and identified clearly the step to implementation because issuing the action program would make the enhancement of amending the Labour Code.

Besides this, it is necessary to carefully prepare for the duties: define the time, schedule of implementation of each issue (in which containing the work weekly, monthly, assigning the duties of each members…)

At the meeting, Mr. Chang Hee Lee congratulated the success of 02 Schemes on salary reform and social insurance reformpassed . This was the break through, and the achievement of MOLISA. He affirmed that ILO Vietnam have already supported and accompanied with MOLISA in deploying and communication to labourers and society about the 02 Resolutions above, as well as committed that ILO Vietnam would try their best to boost the cooperation activities with Vietnam comprehensively, practically and effectively.
