At the meeting, on behalf the Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung sent messages of condolences to the people of Cuba over the loss of many lives in the tragic aircraft accident recently.
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung welcomed and congratulated Mrs. Lianys Torres Rivera for her new position as the Ambassador of Cuba to Vietnam. The Minister believed that she would have the important contribution to the improvement and enhancement of the traditional friendly relationship, comprehensive cooperation, and the union between the two Parties, State and people of Vietnam and Cuba.
The Ambassador Lianys Torres Rivera thanked Minister Dao Ngoc Dung for the warm welcome, and expressed her gratitude to the condolences of the Minister over the plane crash.
At the meeting, the Cuban Ambassador has shared some brief information about Cuba to the Minister. She said that the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Cuba has been increasingly tightened, especially after the state visit of the General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. It was affirmed through the joint statement of the two countries. On the occasion of the visit, the Ministries, sectors and agencies between the two countries signed many important documents, in which there were the MOU on cooperation on human resource and social security development between Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam and Ministry of Labour and Social Security of Cuba.
According to the Ambassador, her visit to MOLISA was also one of the working sessions of Cuban Ambassador to Vietnamese Ministries, Sectors in order to collaborate in implementation the detail of the cooperation signed. She also said that, in this September there would be the high level Leaders Delegate of Cuban Government pay a visit to Vietnam. She hoped that MOLISA and Ministry of Labour and Social Security of Cuba would hold the conference or bilateral activities in the framework of the activities above.
Sharing at the meeting, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung agreed with the Ambassador about the two sides should focus on building the detailed plan to implement effectively the MOU, as well as, he said that Vietnam and Cuba had the similarities in the orientation of labour, employment policies, human resource development and social security. The two sides have affirmed the importance of the enhancement of cooperation and support each other in ensuring the right and social welfare for people in each country.
According to Minister Dao Ngoc Dung, the two sides should concentrate to the detailed issues, such as: study, sharing experience in the field of building policies relating to social security, employment, labour; sharing the experience and success of Cuba on the social issues namely, salary, social insurance; sharing about skilled labour for high-tech agriculture sector…
