On May 20th, 2018, in Hanoi, Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs held the awarding ceremony for the competitors of the 44th World skills competition in 2017 and the 10th National skills competition in 2018. Deputy Minister Vu Duc Dam attended and awarded to the excellent competitors. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Dao Ngoc Dung - Minister of MOLISA, the Former Leaders of the Ministry and representatives from the ministries, localities, associates, groups, enterprises, international organization in Vietnam and the lecturers, instructors and the students.
At the ceremony, Mr. Truong Anh Dung – Deputy Director General of the Directorate of Vocational Education – Vice Head of the Organization Committee of national skills competition said that: the 44th World skills competition at AbuDhabi was held from October 08 – 20th, 2017. Attending the contest, Vietnamese Delegation had 12 candidates took part in 11 professions and awarded: 01Bronze medal and 05 excellent certificate. This is the 2nd time, Vietnam has won the medal at the world skill competition. This result thanked to the strong socialization, the participation of the businesses in the work of preparing and taking part in Vietnam’s skill competitions.
The 10th National skills competition in 2018 was held from May 13 – 20th, in Hanoi and Ha Nam Province, there are 56 Delegations with 520 candidates at 26 professions.
06 Delegations having the highest achievement: Hanoi, Hochiminh City, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Transportation.
Generally, Mr. Truong Anh Dung said that the competition caught the goals: selecting the candidates for the 12th ASEAN Skill Competition in Thailand from August 26 – September 04th, 2018 and the 45th World Skill Competition in Kazan, Russia in 2019; honor the young labour force with the high skill of the country and promote the movement of study, practice the skills at all level and sectors; encourage the instructor and student to raise the creation, contributing to improve the quality of national labour resource; find out the training and practice model for skilled labour in order to implement the goals of the strategy of vocational education development 2011 – 2020.
Speaking at the Ceremony, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung congratulated and appreciated the contestants who participated and achieved the high achievements with the best efforts and the responsibility of the organization committee as well as examinations and the participation of social organizations and enterprises that supported the Vietnamese delegation at the 44th World Skill Competition.
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung also welcomed more than 500 contestants from the 56 delegates participating in the 10th National Skills Competition has overcome many pressures and strived to train skills with a sense of improving skills to better serve themselves and improve labour productivity.
According to Minister Dao Ngoc Dung, it is important to promote the initiative of each member with the higher demand, more socialized requirement and those skills must be adapted in all environment that is required by the industrial revolution 4.0. The Minister believed that all the candidates of this contest having an opportunity to improve the professional skills.
According to Minister Dao Ngoc Dung, the 4.0 industrial revolution poses many opportunities and challenges, the importance is who can grasp the opportunity will be faster and more successful.
Minister Dao Ngoc Dung said that the year of 2018 was chosen as the breakthrough year for vocational education. The goal is to make a clear change in the quality and effectiveness of vocational education to meet the demand of learners, the labour market and enterprises, especially sectors requiring high technology of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution.
At the Closing ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam awarded the Third Class Labour Medal of the President to Tran Nguyen Ba Phuoc who won the Bronze Medal and the Certificate of Merit of the Prime Minister to 05 candidates winning Certificate of Excellence in the 44th World Skills Competition 2017; Awarding the Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs to the sponsors of the candidates of the World Skill Competition; Certificate of Merit of the Minister and Bronze - Silver - Gold Medal for the winner of the 10th National Skill Competition 2018;….
