Strengthening the culture of occupational accident prevention

On March 16th, at Vung Tau City, Ministry of Labour – Invalids and Social Affairs in collaboration with International Social Security Association (ISSA), International Labour Organization (ILO) and ASEAN OSH NET held the conference “National Program on OSH and strengthening the culture of occupational accident prevention in the high risk areas”. Attending the conference were Mr. Doan Mau Diep, Deputy Minister of MOLISA and leader representatives from Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, domestic experts and experts from Germany, Korea, Singapore, Chile, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia.
At the conference, there were 24 presentations on results of the studies, evaluation, recommendation as well as the real experience from the countries, areas, enterprises in the high risk area; the experience when building the culture at work place at many country.
After listening the presentations, the participants focused on discussing, understanding the development of work safety in the mining sector of India; sharing the experience, and method in identification, evaluation of risk and measures of control to prevent accident in the mining sector, construction sector of Vietnam and the other countries; the role of the work of inspection, examination and the trade union organization in prevention, implementation the culture of prevention occupational accident at enterprises; the outstanding model on improving OSH at Dong Nai province…
